Health Guarantee
Hilltop Hollow Hedgehogs offers a one-year congenital health guarantee. If your hedgehog passes within that time due to a congenital or hereditary issue, a vet-performed necropsy at your expense is required for a replacement.
We do not cover issues caused by neglect, improper care, injury, or diet.
We also provide a lifetime WHS guarantee. WHS must be confirmed via necropsy at your expense. A replacement baby will be offered from current litters. If we are no longer breeding, a full refund will be issued within 30 days of receiving the necropsy report.
All guarantees are void if care guidelines (see our APH Information and Care Guide) are not followed.
Adoption Application and Photo Proof of Set-up
Our adoption application is mandatory for all adopters. We do not share your information with anyone. It is used for our records only.
For the safety of our babies, retirees, and rescues we require photo proof of an appropriate set up that includes adequate size, all needs are met, and heat is provided using a dome with ceramic socket, ceramic heat emitter bulb, and a thermostat. We request these photos be sent to us via Facebook messenger or our email address: hilltophollowhedgehogs@gmail.com.
Adopters have from the time the application is approved until 48 Hours BEFORE the scheduled pick up date to provide photos. If you are adopting a currently ready baby or adult, please be prepared to provide these photos before pick up. We will provide one courtesy reminder.
If photos are not provided, deposit is forfeited and the baby/retiree/rescue will be made AVAILABLE to other adopters.
Sales Policy
All hedgehogs are sold as pets only.
No pet stores or opposite-sex sales.
We do not sell to illegal states/areas, including:
California, Georgia, Hawaii, Pennsylvania
5 Boroughs of NYC
Windsor, Langley, British Columbia (Canada)
Permits may be required in:
New Jersey Wisconsin
You are responsible for providing proof of permit if required. We do not provide any forms that may be required. Please know your state's laws on exotic animals.
Pickup & Transport
Pickups by appointment only — notify us if running late or early. Everyone's time is important, we will do our best to accommodate all, but please be considerate.
Pickup location will be shared when your hedgehog is ready and will occur outside for safety reasons in the Columbus city area. Delivery within the State of Ohio may be available for an additional transport fee.
Delivery available in the U.S. via USDA licensed ground transporters. Prices vary depending on the transporter. Wait times vary for scheduling transport depending on routes.
Holding Policy
Hedgehogs must be picked up within 7 days of the ready date. We will provide the ready date at least one week prior. No additional holds or boarding. If you can not pick up or arrange pick up for your hedgehog within 7 days of the ready date your deposit will be forfeited and the baby will be made AVAILABLE to other adopters. If you have become unresponsive and ceased communication with us, we will consider you uninterested in adopting, your deposit will be forfeited, and the baby will be AVAILABLE to other adopters.
Pricing
Most hoglets are $250–$400.
Rare colors may be more.
Color is not guaranteed, as it can shift or change.
Pedigrees are not available to pet homes, but Certificates of Registration will be provided should you choose to show your new pet.
Rescues are $50.
Retirees are between $100.
Deposits
$75 non-refundable deposit applies toward your balance to reserve your hoglet.
$25 non-refundable deposit applies toward your balance to reserve your retiree or rescue.
Accepted via PayPal (Friends and Family ONLY), CashApp, or Zelle.
Balance due at pickup (cash only), or pre-paid via previously listed methods.
Ownership
Hilltop Hollow Hedgehogs retains partial ownership of all babies sold.
You are responsible for all care costs.
You may not sell or rehome your hedgehog.
If you can no longer keep it, it must be returned to us at your expense.
Returns will always be accepted.
No refunds apply.
Legal action may be taken if this policy is violated.
